Education
We believe the more you learn, the more you earn.
Education will get you where you want to go with your career.

Realtor Institute

Secure your professional designation as a Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI) and get the edge in business. The GRI designation requires the successful completion of three specific courses, which can be taken in any order. GRI coursework also can fulfill your sales person or broker post licensing education requirements, or may be used as CE credit on your license renewal.

Upon completion of required coursework, students must fill out a petition to graduate to receive the GRI designation, and all coursework must have been completed within five years from the date of your petition.

For a complete schedule and description of the GRI courses offered in Florida, go to the Education section of far.org.

Continuing education courses
These courses have been approved by the Florida Real Estate Commission for specialty-course continuing education (CE) credit toward the renewal of real estate licenses.

You can complete some courses online and others through classes presented by local boards/associations.

  • Online: GRI Course One, “Standards of Practice,” offers either 45 hours of post-license education credit to new real estate sales associates, or 11 hours of specialty continuing education credit for sales associates and brokers who have completed their post-license education and initial license renewal.
  • Online: You can also use your computer to take Residential Real Estate, Fundamentals of Commercial Real Estate and Group Ownership and Disposition Strategies. Each course is approved by the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) for 14 hours of CE credit; 11 hours of specialty CE and 3 hours of Core Law CE.Successful completion of any one of these online courses will satisfy the FREC requirement for real estate licensees to complete 14 hours of continuing education each renewal period (subsequent to the mandated post-licensing requirement).
Can’t sit still for that long? Not a problem. You can take a break – the site is fully interactive and will recall your answers and provide you an update when you return to the course at a later date and time, provided coursework is completed within 90 days of your initial registration.

  • CE Express: The CE Express provides educational courses available through local FAR boards and associations. The courses are approved by FREC for continuing education credit for real estate licensees.
