Should You Use Windows Vista?

Windows Vista logoWhen it comes to technoogy, there’s always something new around the corner. By now, you’ve probably seen lots of articles and advertising on the new Windows Vista operating system.  With it, we can look forward to a new user interface, better graphics and increased performance. But, don’t run out to get it just yet caution the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR) technology helpline technicians.

“To take advantage of the new features in Vista, a personal computer (PC) needs to be a lot beefier than what you probably have on your desk right now, and many of the applications you might need to continue using may never be able to run in Vista in their current forms,” say FAR Tech Helpline technicians.

So, you may want to think twice before your retailer sends you home with Windows Vista, as an upgrade, or on a new PC. As with most new technologies, let the manufacturers, application developers and Microsoft itself get caught up and get the bugs out.

For more information on this and other technologies, or for help solving a computer hardware or software problem, call FAR’s Technology Helpline.
