Put Art in Its Place

Dawn DuBose, broker-associate with Watson Realty’s Mandarin South office near Jacksonville, says artwork—when properly displayed—can add to a home’s appeal. “One recent listing featured a substantial collection of eclectic artwork, as well as pen and ink drawings and family photos,” she says. “However, they weren’t displayed in the right way.”
 
DuBose took down many of the pieces and re-hung others for a more consistent visual appearance. She also used the hallway to group family pictures and smaller pieces of artwork. “The sellers were amazed by the change in their home, just from revising the art,” DuBose says, “and the listing sold fairly quickly.”
