Be a Legal Eagle

Need a little help with legal issues? Just go to the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) Web site, www.realtor.org, and check out its 2007 Legal Scan—research that helps real estate professionals reduce legal costs. Best of all, it’s free to NAR members.“This latest legal scan is
our crystal ball to a better understanding of key legal issues and trends affecting the real estate marketplace, and gives a wealth of information on agent and broker liability,” says NAR’s General Counsel Laurie Janik.

Some of the survey’s key findings: Agency issues are among the most common types of real estate legal disputes, along with disputes over property condition disclosure, especially mold and structural defects. And technology issues are growing in importance, especially with respect to privacy, spam and other forms of electronic solicitation.

Additionally, members of The Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR) will find advice and online resources to help them understand real estate license law and property
issues in the Legal Center at floridarealtors.org.
