More women choose commercial A survey by the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network shows that females make up a larger portion of commercial property professionals than in 2000.
The poll of 6,500 commercial real estate professionals nationwide found that 36 percent of industry pros currently are female versus 32 percent five years ago.
However, females continue to trail their male counterparts in terms of position and salary.
Interestingly, the increase is not spread evenly among specialties. Women gained in the fields of asset, property and facilities management; brokerage, sales and leasing; and financial and professional services. However, there was no increase in the percentage of women in development, where females account for 36 percent of professionals.
Additionally, the survey found that growth in the number of women holding senior-level executive posts in most specialties had not grown.
