Great American Realtor Days - April 14-15, 2009/Users/adamp/Desktop/GARD08

Quick Links:

What is Great American Realtor Days?

This yearly legislative days key event in Tallahassee brings together Key Contacts and FAR members who want legislators to hear the collective voice of Florida’s diverse Realtor community. Legislators meet nearly 1,000 Realtors at the Capitol and discuss current issues affecting the real estate industry.

Location!  Location!  Location!

The legislative briefings for Great American Realtor® Days will not be held in the Tallahassee Civic Center this year. Why? Well, we were looking for a way to save money and make the briefings easier to get to. The solution was the Challenger Learning Center (CLC) and we’re pretty sure you’re going to love it.

Great American Realtor DayThe CLC is just two blocks west of the FAR offices and two blocks north of the Capitol, so you’ll have an easy time getting from the briefings to those important meetings with your legislators. And half way between the CLC and FAR on Adams Street you’ll find the annual FAR Block Party on April 14th, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Parking

We have been informed there is a possibility that the parking garage at Kleman Plaza, where the Challenger Learning Center is and where the briefings will be held, might become full.  Therefore, a “park and ride” option for GARD attendees has been added.

You can park at the Civic Center, at no charge, and take the REALTOR® shuttle bus to Kleman Plaza/Challenger Learning Center.

The shuttle will run on a continuous basis Tuesday from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

If you have any questions, or need assistance, please contact Suzanne Hughes in the Tallahassee office of Public Policy at 850-224-1400, or suzanneh@far.org.

Briefing location and schedule

We’ll be using both theaters at the Challenger Learning Center. The live presentation will take place in the IMAX theater (287 seats). The amphitheater (128 seats) will serve as an overflow venue. You’ll hear the briefings in the amphitheater and see all the Power Point slides on the big screen.  No matter which theater you’re in, you’ll get all the key information so you’ll be ready to meet with your legislators.
