Florida Realtors Board sets policy on key initiatives
At its 2013 Mid-winter Business Meetings, the Florida Realtors Board of Directors took the following action on real estate issues:
- Florida Realtors supports the concepts in Rep. Kathleen Passidomo's (R-Naples) legislative proposal to reform the judicial foreclosure process while ensuring that private property rights are protected.
- Florida Realtors, working with the Division of Real Estate, will clarify through legislation Florida Real Estate Commission Rule 61J2-5.018 regarding broker vacancies in the event of a death.
- Florida Realtors supports allowing greater flexibility to the Florida Insurance Guaranty Association (FIGA) board when levying assessments.
- Florida Realtors supports legislative proposals to move the Public Hurricane Loss Projection Model from the Office of Insurance Regulation to the Florida Department of Emergency Management.
- Florida Realtors supports the effort to close the loophole allowing property tax benefits offered to for-profit housing providers that control non-profit entities.
