Second homeowners can afford property taxes more than residents

 

Editor,

 

Remember that most people with vacation homes do not live in Florida. Homesteaders are mostly seniors with fixed incomes and thousands of other younger families with low- to mid-incomes.

 

The pay scale in Florida is very low. The average family cannot survive the higher costs of taxes and insurance. I speak to these families every day in my business.

 

It’s sad to see what our politicians have done to the public that put them in office.
