Realtors must help solve the short sale problem
Editor, I could not agree more with Mr. Calladines’ comments (http://www.floridarealtors.org/NewsAndEvents/article.cfm?id=223065) (regarding banks’ role in the current crisis). As a step further, if short sales continue to be necessary, there are plenty of Realtors out here who will sell them. The painfully slow, inefficient, cumbersome, paperwork-choked process that now exists is inexcusable. The lending institutions have been at this long enough to have formulated a more timely, appropriate, efficient and fair process, by which we, as Realtors – and millions of willing buyers – could come together and help clean up this mess. I think the Realtor associations, both state and national, should step up and take the lead in making this a workable situation for all. There is not a more important issue right now, especially here in Florida, upon which we should immediately focus. Donna Dastic, GRI, ABR, CSP Adams, Cameron & Co. Realtors Deland |
