SAN JOSE, Calif. – Oct. 22, 2013 – Realtor.com announced today that it enhanced its rental listings for mobile devices. Users can now receive notifications when in close proximity of a rental property they previously visited or saved within the app. The app also offers photo upload and sharing features.
In addition, the app for iPhone and iPod touch has new features supported by the recent software upgrade, iOS 7, including the ability to share content using the new AirDrop feature. Users with iOS 7 can use AirDrop to share listings and photos with other iPhone or iPod touch users in the same Wi-Fi network.
The National Association of Realtors® (NAR) owns realtor.com, and it’s operated by Move Inc.
“In the second quarter of 2013, realtor.com listing detail page views from mobile devices grew about 60 percent year-over-year, and half of our listing detail page views overall occurred on a mobile device,” says Scott Boecker, chief product officer at Move.
With the update, the app can identify if users are close to previously viewed and saved listings, and send notifications to users on their iPhone, iPod touch or Android while the app is open.
Renters can now use the app to upload photos and take notes while visiting properties and share their listings with friends and family through SMS, email or AirDrop. All photos and notes are saved and stored in the cloud, making it easy for users to access their photos and notes at any time. The rentals app also features 22 percent more listings since it launched earlier this year.
The realtor.com app is a free download. The app for iPhone or Android devices can be downloaded from the realtor.com website or by going directly to the App Store or Google Play.
