Gov. Scott names Fitzgerald to FREC

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Feb. 8, 2016 – Florida Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of Patricia "Patti" Fitzgerald to the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC).

Fitzgerald of Jupiter is a real estate broker and associate manager for Illustrated Properties; and in 2011, she served as Florida Realtors president. She succeeds Roger Enzor and is appointed for a term beginning Feb. 5, 2016, and ending Oct. 31, 2019. The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.

FREC consists of seven members and meets monthly – usually the third Wednesday of the month and the immediately preceding Tuesday. It administers and enforces Florida's real estate license law, Chapter 475, Part I, Florida Statutes.

The Commission is also empowered to pass rules that enable it to implement its statutorily authorized duties and responsibilities. These rules are contained in Chapter 61J2, Florida Administrative Code. The statute and rules, along with Chapters 455, 215, 120, and 20, Florida Statutes are available under Statutes and Rules.
