Let the offshore drilling begin

This senator (http://www.floridarealtors.org/NewsAndEvents/n3-061708.cfm) needs to remove his head from his behind! Basic economics – supply and demand! Also, America must develop its own oil resources, increase the number of refineries and build numerous small nuclear power plants around the country. All of this is necessary while continuing to seek a solution to our petroleum problem. It is obvious that developing bio-fuels using our food supply is not the answer. It is taking more energy to produce these bio-fuels than the energy that they provide – not to mention the upward pressure it exerts on the everyday cost of our food supply.
 
We must have our Congress and president make this a national problem and begin using the natural resources available in our own country. When young and in school, economics students were told that one of America’s strengths was the fact that we had a tremendous amount of natural resources per person. In fact, only Russia and China had more available natural resources than the good ole U.S.A.
 
Where is our leadership – it is not in the person of Bill Nelson.
