Department of Revenue singles out short sales for extra revenue Editor, The Florida Department of Revenue (DOR) should consider charging state doc stamps based on the total amount of the sale when a tax deed sale or a foreclosure purchase occurs – not the price paid before the process began. I see no reason the DOR had to single out “short sales” for extra revenue. The short sale has become the best way out of the foreclosure process for both the owner and the mortgage company.
