Citizens Property Insurance offers new commercial nonresidential multi-peril policy TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Nov. 4, 2008 – Citizens Property Insurance Corp. announced that it will begin offering a Commercial Nonresidential Multi-peril (CNR-M) policy on Nov. 17, 2008. This new policy will be available to eligible nonresidential entities statewide. Under HB 1A from the Florida Legislature’s 2007 session, Citizens had to develop a transition plan to take the existing wind-only policies of the Property Casualty Joint Underwriting Association (PCJUA) to Citizens. It required Citizens to offer the commercial nonresidential coverage that was previously provided by the PCJUA. In addition, Citizens must begin offering commercial/nonresidential insurance for basic property perils coverage. Citizens has additional information about the new coverage on its Web site, www.citizensfla.com, including FAQs, an application checklist and quick quote info.
