Stretch your advertising budget with remnant ads
DALLAS – July 23, 2008 – Real estate professionals can get more exposure for their money by taking advantage of remnant ads at newspapers, magazines, and radio and television stations. Remnant ads, or stand-by advertising, are used to fill in unsold advertising space or space available when another firm backs out. Newspapers typically offer remnant ads at discounts of 33 percent to 50 percent, while discounts up to 75 percent and 90 percent can be obtained through radio and television stations, respectively. However, agents need to have ads ready in order to take advantage of these last-minute opportunities; and while they can submit the advertising material to the media outlet and let representatives know how often they want to be published, a space must open up before the ads will run. Experts point out that agents have an advantage when it comes to obtaining advertising discounts if they are existing customers of the media outlet. They also might want to consider hiring companies to manage their remnant ad campaigns. Source: Realty Times (07/22/08) Roberts, Ralph © Copyright 2008 INFORMATION, INC.
