Get ready for impending ‘boom’

NEW YORK – July 6, 2009 – Sales and realty guru Tom Hopkins has carved out an impressive career over the past 30-odd years as a salesman and also as a speaker who shares the keys to his success.

Despite the current state of the industry, Hopkins says the downturn trimmed down the glut of participants in the real estate business – which makes now a great time for determined agents to increase their profits. The market is headed for recovery, he predicts, and “the first quarter of 2010 will be outstanding.”

Hopkins advises real estate brokers and agents still in the field to fall back on the fundamentals: follow up with clients and stay in touch with clients – be more than just a salesperson. Too many agents, Hopkins says, “start sitting in the office waiting for the phone to ring. And the whole key to success is to go out and talk to people.” Hopkins also recommends that practitioners “master the art of selling … which means you invest in books, in CD’s – school is never out for a professional.”

For realty professionals who follow these recommendations and who “work, stay focused, have their goals set, and really know what the heck they’re doing in the field of sales,” Hopkins says the next three years hold great potential and promise.
