NAR rolls out limited health insurance Realtors without health insurance now have an affordable, guaranteed-issue option for coverage through a new NAR Realtor Benefits partner program called Realtors Core Health Insurance (RCHI), (www.RealtorsCoreHealthInsurance.com). The program’s three limited medical plans are available to Florida Realtors.
| Gov. Crist announces Cover Florida Health Care enrollment numbers TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – March 25, 2009 – Governor Charlie Crist announced the initial enrollment in Cover Florida Health Care plans over its first two months of operation. As of Feb. 28, 2009, the health plans reported enrolling 952 Floridians – 82 percent of whom chose catastrophic coverage, and 18 percent chose preventive coverage.
| Crist takes health insurance message to two Realtor associations DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – March 6, 2009 – Gov. Crist hit the road today to talk about Cover Florida, the new affordable health care insurance program approved by the 2008 Legislature. Crist has three planned stops today, which include the Daytona Beach Area and Greater Tampa Association of Realtors.
| HEALTH INSURANCE The Cover Florida health care program, which offers reasonably-priced health coverage to uninsured Floridians, is set to launch Jan. 5, 2009. Today, six health insurance providers signed contracts at a ceremony attended by Gov. Charlie Crist, FAR Vice-President of Public Policy John Sebree, and other dignitaries. Sebree believes about 30 percent of Florida Realtors® do not have health coverage, which is why FAR backed the bill that created the Cover Florida program, SB 2534, during this year’s session of the Florida Legislature.
| Florida KidCare offers health insurance at reasonable prices TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Aug. 14, 2008 – Health insurance is expensive even in August when Florida offers guaranteed group coverage to self-employed workers, such as Realtors (http://www.floridarealtors.org/NewsAndEvents/n2-080408.cfm). But you can protect your kids. Florida’s KidCare program offers reasonably priced health insurance coverage for children 19 or younger.
| August is Florida’s open enrollment period for health insurance TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Aug. 4, 2008 – August is the only month each year when self-employed Florida workers, such as most Realtors, have open enrollment for health insurance plans on a guaranteed-issue basis. During the month, single-group employers, sole proprietors, independent contractors and others may obtain health insurance or switch plans.
| Crist signs health insurance bill and hopes to offer coverage in 2009 TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – May 21, 2008 – Governor Charlie Crist signed SB 2534, which will provide affordable health insurance options to 3.8 million uninsured Floridians. The Cover Florida plan will allow the state to negotiate with health insurers to develop affordable health coverage for uninsured Floridians ages 19 to 64. Small businesses will also be able to offer employees a variety of limited health care plans and services through a centralized clearinghouse.

Crist met with many of the insurers yesterday on his plan to allow the State of Florida to negotiate with health insurers to develop affordable health coverage for uninsured Floridians ages 19 to 64.
| Realtors talk to Crist about health insurance coverage TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – April 9, 2008 – Governor Charlie Crist met with Marianna Realtors Stephanie Wise Adams and Jeff Adams yesterday to discuss health insurance in Florida, part of a Tallahassee Tuesday informal discussion at the Florida Governor’s Mansion. Both Realtors have had trouble finding health care coverage, and Crist used the opportunity to push for a pet project – limited health insurance policies for all Floridians that would cost as little as $150 per month.
| Health plan advances in state Senate TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – April 3, 2008 – There’s some promising news from the state capital for the thousands of Florida Realtors seeking affordable health insurance. Yesterday, a Senate committee unanimously approved a bill that would allow private insurers to offer preventive, primary and urgent care coverage, including hospitalization, to individuals, with some types of coverage costing as little as $150 a month.

| August: Open enrollment month for guaranteed single-group health insurance TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Aug. 2, 2007 – In Florida, August is open enrollment month for single-group employers to get health insurance or switch plans on a guaranteed-issue basis. Translation: Insurers and Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) must offer coverage without regard to health status. The open enrollment period continues through Aug. 31, 2007.
