According to Nancy Hogan, if you want to become an acknowledged expert, you had better learn PowerPoint.

"I'm the person to talk to when it comes to mortgage fraud," she says. Hogan, managing broker of the Coral Gables San Remo Office of Coldwell Banker, has been called to speak at so many conferences, Chamber of Commerce meetings, committee hearings and council chapters that she worked up a slide show in PowerPoint. "Now, whenever the media needs a reference on the topic, or somebody needs a speaker, I get the call. You want to be an expert? Work up a presentation."

Tip of the Week – Stage it! Sell it!

Demand for stagers is on the rise, according to the International Association of Home Staging Professionals. Sales time can be cut in half and resale value boosted by about 6.9 percent by hiring a stager, they say. For about $1,500 to $5,000 – paid by the Realtor® the seller, or both – stagers eliminate clutter, remove personalized items and rearrange furnishings to help prospective buyers picture themselves in the house.
