Bridge the gap with an international liaison
At Prudential Chaplin Williams Realty in Fernandina Beach, broker-associates Paul and Karen Werling hope their new international liaison will help bridge the gap between their home shores and the United Kingdom, where they’re targeting their international business.
“We sold a home to Paul Wetherhill, a U.K.-based client last year, and then we brought him on as our liaison,” says Karen Werling. “Marketing techniques can be different in each country and with his help we feel that we can target our market more effectively.”
Werling says Wetherhill, who has a real estate license and who currently lives on Amelia Island, is “very good at comparing the different processes and terminology.” To help international buyers, for example, he created a comparison chart and a currency converter that the Werlings use on their Web site, www.AmeliaIslandProperty.co.uk
On their “Find Properties” page, for example, visitors can find listings to all the available investment properties on Amelia Island. The site is updated in real time and visitors can register to receive update emails on new listings and recent price changes on existing properties in the system. If interested, visitors can contact the Amelia Island office to be put in touch with Wetherhill.
