2021 Clean Up Florida’s Waterways Promo With Mike McGraw and Jeff Fagan TRT: 2 minutes 23 seconds Video Transcription MIKE McGRAW directly addresses camera: Hey Florida Realtors, 2021 Vice President Mike McGraw here to encourage YOU to help clean up Florida’s Waters July 1st through the 31st. Our lakes, rivers, springs, gulf and ocean define the beauty of the sunshine state. It’s where we play . . . relax . . . and come together. And . . . for millions of people, it’s why Florida, is home. Joining me to share some tips on putting water cleanup projects together is my friend, fellow Realtor Jeff Fagan. Hey Jeff. JEFF FAGAN directly addresses camera: Thanks Mike. Last year’s water cleanup project was a great experience and Realtors really had fun doing it. Here are some tips to make YOUR clean up fun and easy. Step 1. Pick a location. Choose a lake, river, boat ramp, retention pond, beach or any local waterway that needs some love and care. Be sure to pick a spot that’s easy to get to. MIKE: Step 2. Recruit volunteers. Talk to your local association, invite family, friends and neighbors. Heck, invite the mayor! I can tell you from experience, people really WANT to help. They just need to know it’s happening. JEFF: Step 3. Gather tools. You’ll need trash bags, gloves, pickers and buckets. Talk to your local Home Depot, or Lowes or Ace Hardware store. They might be willing to donate some of the tools. MIKE: Step 4. Order Event Swag from Florida Realtors. Face masks and hats are available for your volunteers. JEFF: And Step 5. Spread the word. Take pictures of your cleanup projects and post them to social media with the hashtag #CleanUpFloridaWaters.
