March 25, 2008 • 10:30 P.M. The big news in Tallahassee today is the arrival of more than 700 Realtors for Great American Realtor Days. Over the next two days, Realtors will meet one-on-one with the state Senators and Representatives to obtain lower property taxes for second and vacation homeowners and commercial property owners.
March 12, 2008 • 10:33 P.M. Five-year rule for property assessments goes high tech. Currently, property appraisers are required to physically inspect real property every five years to assess its value. HB 595 by Rep. Bryan Nelson (R-Apopka) would allow an appraiser to use image technology in lieu of a physical inspection to assess property.

Senate President Ken Pruitt (R-Port St. Lucie) and House Speaker Marco Rubio (R-Miami) addressed their respective chambers yesterday morning. Gov. Crist elected to deliver his State of the State address during primetime, instead of midday, as is the custom.
