How AI Is Transforming Buyer-Agent Connections

Consumers are using AI to find local agents, so a strong digital presence, including an updated profile and positive reviews, are essential for visibility and trust.

NEW YORK — Artificial intelligence (AI) is redefining how buyers and sellers find real estate professionals, and agents are starting to adapt.

Consumers are no longer just typing keywords into Google; they are asking tools like ChatGPT and Gemini in plain language who the best local agents are or what neighborhoods fit their needs.

That shift means AI often pulls from online reviews, Google Business Profiles and recent content when recommending professionals. Industry experts say building a strong digital presence across platforms is becoming critical.

Steps include keeping a Google Business Profile complete and current, asking clients for hyperlocal reviews, publishing short videos that answer common neighborhood questions and making you’re your contact details are consistent everywhere.

Agents who appear in multiple trusted sources, from business directories to YouTube, are more likely to be surfaced by AI as reliable voices. The strategy depends more on steady effort than money, and it can put an agent in position to be the first name mentioned when consumers ask an AI tool who to call.
