How to Get Your GRI — and Why You Should

If you're serious about boosting your income and career opportunities, take the GRI road to success. You’ll be recognized as a top-tier real estate professional.

In today's competitive business environment, successful Realtors need the professional advantage that comes with cutting-edge education. The Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI) designation is recognized nationwide as the gold standard for real estate educational achievement.

Also, according to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), Realtors who earn the GRI designation make $30,000 per year more on average than those without a GRI designation.

What are the GRI courses?

The Graduate, Realtor® Institute program includes seven courses, available online or in a classroom. The full program consists of 105 coursework hours on topics such as marketing, profitability, listings and real estate law.

Each GRI series module combines a 15-hour course with a 1.5-hour exam. Each module is approved for continuing education credit or 15 hours of sales associate, broker/broker associate post-licensing credit. Students must complete all course work within 5 years to earn the designation.

Here’s a quick overview of the program:

· GRI 100 Series: Standards of Practice

  • GRI 101: Realtors: Professionalism and the Law
  • GRI 102: Starting Your Business
  • GRI 103: Maximize Your Profitability

· GRI 200 Series: Essential Real Estate Techniques

  • GRI 201: It’s All About You!
  • GRI 202: Technology and Investments

Then show off your diploma

After successfully completing all seven GRI modules, members in good standing with their Realtor membership, can receive the GRI Designation, diploma and pin and use the GRI Designation in promoting themselves, after the submission of the GRI Petition to Graduate Form to Florida Realtors. Fill out the GRI Petition to Graduate Form and send it to Florida Realtors (see contact on form).

Once the information has been confirmed, Realtors can proudly display the GRI diploma, use the GRI designation on business cards and wear the GRI pin.
