Another Record Year for Florida Travel
Florida hit a new tourism high, driven by U.S. travelers. Strong visitor numbers can buoy local markets, from short-term rentals to retail and housing demand.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — On Friday, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced it was another record-breaking year for tourism in the Sunshine State, reporting that Florida welcomed 143.3. million visitors throughout 2025.
A release from the governor's office indicated that in the fourth quarter of 2025 alone, an estimated 33.5 million visitors traveled to the state, marking it as the highest fourth quarter for visitation on record.
Preliminary estimates show that domestic travelers accounted for 91.5 of visitors last year, with 131.1 million Americans having traveled to the Sunshine State.
Overseas visitation reached a staggering 9.3 million with Canadian visitors totaling 2.9 million.
"Florida continues to set the standard as the top travel destination in the nation, welcoming millions of visitors while delivering real economic benefits for our residents," DeSantis said. "Through strategic investments in infrastructure, public safety, and environmental stewardship, we are ensuring that Florida remains a place where families can vacation with confidence and where our tourism industry can continue to thrive."
According to the release, Florida is the #1 domestic travel destination in the U.S. and a standout choice for international visitors.
