Florida Realtors disaster fund ready to help

As Hurricane Isaias approaches the state, members can look to Florida Realtors' Disaster Relief Fund for recovery assistance if the storm causes damage.

As Hurricane Isaias approaches Florida, the Florida Realtors® Disaster Relief Fund (DRF) stands ready to help members recover from storm-related property damage.

The DRF can provide financial assistance to Realtors®, Realtor boards/associations and staff whose primary residential home or real estate office sustained damages due to the storm. According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm could impact much of the Florida Panhandle today into Saturday.

If Isaias causes qualifying damage in Florida, the DRF will open for applications. Members should check the DRF page for updates on eligibility, application deadlines and how to apply.

Members who experience damage should begin documenting their losses once conditions are safe. Helpful records include:

  • Color photos showing damage (digital preferred) and insurance summary page showing deductible and coverage information; and
  • A written assessment from your insurance company and estimate to replace or repair damaged areas; include qualifying repair receipts to date and any additional information which may assist with describing your disaster and subsequent damage.
  • Qualifying repair receipts to date and any additional information which may assist with describing your disaster and subsequent damage.
