ORLANDO, Fla. – Who are Florida Realtors® members? A typical Realtor in Florida is female, with a median age in the mid-50s and an average of 11 years of business experience in the profession. Plus, Florida’s Realtors rely on real estate as a primary income, stay active in their communities and maintain strong ties to Florida homeownership.

Key takeaways from the latest 2025 Florida Realtors Member Profile

 

Business characteristics:

  • In Florida, 73% are licensed sales ages, 14% held broker licenses and 16% held broker associate licenses
  • 69% of members specialized in residential brokerage
  • The typical Realtor had 11 years of experience, and 72% of members report they are certain they will remain active for two more years.

Business activity:

  • Agents typically had about seven transactions in 2024
  • Typical sales volume for brokerage specialists was $1.8 million
  • The typical Realtor worked 35 hours per week and earned 20% of their business from repeat business and 22 percent through referrals from past clients.

Housing affordability remained the top reason cited by potential clients keeping them from completing transactions.

Income and expenses of Realtors:

  • Typical business expenses were $8,900, and the median gross income was $48,500

Office and firm affiliation:

  • 58% of members are affiliated with an independent company and 35% are affiliated with a franchised company

Demographics:

  • 62% are female and the median age was 57 years old
  • 17% had a previous career in management, business or finance and 16% in sales or retail
  • 50% reported that real estate is their primary source of income
  • 85% of Realtors own their primary residence in Florida; 40% reported owning a secondary property
  • 57% reported volunteering in their community
