Financial Help from the Realtor Family for Hurricane Victims
Florida Realtors Disaster Relief Fund: There When You Need It
The National Association of Realtors® Realtors Relief Foundation® (RRF) approved Florida Realtors®' disaster relief grant application in the wake of Hurricanes Ian and Nicole, opening up $1.5 million dollars in assistance to the storms' victims across the state.
And these funds aren't just for members of the Realtor family — any Florida resident who suffered damage to their primary residence can apply for assistance from the RRF.
The RRF grants are separate from the Florida Realtors Disaster Relief Fund assistance program, which is exclusive to Realtors and Realtor staff. However, the hurricane relief funds are being administered by the Florida Realtors Disaster Relief Fund trustees. Affected Realtors are encouraged to apply for both.
Here's a look at what you need to know about applying for disaster relief.
For non-Florida Realtors members
The Realtors Relief Foundation allows any Florida resident who suffered damage during Hurricanes Ian and/or Nicole to apply for financial relief.
National Association of Realtors Realtors Relief Foundation: Recipients must be full-time Florida residents and U.S. citizens or legally admitted for residence in the United States. Relief assistance can be used toward monthly mortgage expenses for the primary residence or rental cost due to displacement that was damaged.
For Florida Realtors members and Realtor staff
Florida Realtors' members as well as employees, board/associations and staff may apply for both Florida Realtors Disaster Relief Fund and RRF disaster relief. Separate forms must be filled out for each.
Florida Realtors Disaster Relief Fund: There are two form options: one for individual assistance, for the applicant’s primary residence that was damaged, and one for a broker to complete in the event of office damage. If you suffered damages to both your home and office, you may apply for both, if the home and office are at two separate addresses.

About the organizations
The Florida Realtors Disaster Relief Fund was formed as a trust in the state of Florida in August 1992, and since then it has been assisting Realtors and their employees as well as local associations and staff who experienced damage to their primary residences or offices caused by natural disasters.
The Realtors Relief Foundation is 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing housing-related assistance to victims of disasters. Created as a REALTOR®-driven response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, RRF continues to restore and rebuild communities affected by disasters such as wildfires, hurricanes, earthquakes, and tornados thanks to the generosity of individual REALTORS®, REALTOR® Associations, and affiliated organizations. Together, through the RRF, our community has helped over 17,000 families remain in their homes.
