Gov. DeSantis Appoints 5 to FREC, 3 to Appraisal Board
The state real estate board continues to have Realtor representation, including Patti Ketcham (Tallahassee), Renee Butler (Winter Haven) and Patti Fitzgerald (Jupiter).
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced a roster of appointments and re-appointments to both the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) and the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board. All appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC)
- Patricia “Patti” Ketcham
Ketcham is a licensed real estate broker and owner of the Ketcham Realty Group in Tallahassee. She is a past chair of FREC and past president of the Tallahassee Board of Realtors®. She’s a member of Florida Realtors, the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and the Mortgage Bankers Association. Ketcham earned her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University.
- Renee Butler
Butler is a licensed real estate broker, and president and owner of The Butler Team at Brokers Realty of Central Florida. She hails from Winter Haven and is a member of the East Polk County Association of Realtors, Florida Realtors, NAR, the Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce, Polk County Sheriff’s Advisory Board and Citizens Bank and Trust Advisory Board. Butler studied at Polk State College and Florida Southern College.
- Patricia “Patti” Fitzgerald
Fitzgerald is a licensed real estate broker and manager of Illustrated Properties in Jupiter. Previously, she owned Coastal Properties. Fitzgerald has been involved with the Executive Women of the Palm Beaches, Leadership Palm Beach County and Women of the Moose. President of Florida Realtors in 2011, she is a member of the Miami Association of Realtors, Florida Realtors and NAR. She studied at the University of Minnesota and Minnesota State University, Mankato.
- Randy Schwartz
Schwartz lives in Winter Springs. He’s an attorney and former general counsel for Florida Realtors. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and the University of Central Florida, in addition to being the former bureau chief for the Real Estate Bureau of the Orlando Field Office of the Florida Attorney General. Schwartz earned his juris doctor from the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law.
- Richard Barbara
Barbara is a Coral Gables attorney specializing in real estate, general civil and commercial litigation. He was selected as a “Top Up and Coming Attorney” by Florida Trend and has been a member of the Baptist Health South Florida Foundation, Miami Cancer Institute and C-Suite Miami. Barbara earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida International University and his juris doctor from Stetson University College of Law.
Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board
- Janet Rabin
Rabin is team lead for Collateral Valuations at NewRez in Cape Coral. Previously, she held appraisal positions with Ditech Financial, Corelogic and Landsafe. Rabin has been involved with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Association of Real Estate Research Professionals. She’s served on the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board since 2016.
- Herbert Jourdan
Jourdan is an appraiser and president of Spectrum Valuation in Ocala. Previously, he served as managing director of property sciences and chief appraiser at JVI Appraisal. Jourdan was a member of The Appraisal Foundation Board of Trustees and is a past president of the Central Florida Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. He earned his bachelor’s degree in real estate and finance from Indiana University.
- Shawn Wilson
Wilson, of Lakeland, is the owner of Compass Real Estate Consulting. She has been involved with The Appraisal Foundation, Appraisal Institute, Association of Eminent Domain Professionals, International Association of Assessing Officers and the International Right of Way Association. Wilson earned an associate’s degree from Valencia College.
