Success as an Agent in 2021 Means Nailing Digital Curb Appeal

If 97% of recent homebuyers used the internet, then digital curb appeal – how good a listing looks online and in the listing preview from a search – is vital.

NORWALK, Conn. – Digital curb appeal is an increasingly important factor in selling homes, especially as more people work from home during the pandemic. Digital curb appeal isn’t only how appealing the listing looks online but also within the listing preview in search results.

To maximize digital curb appeal, agents should consider pre-listing improvements, staging, professional photos and any additional actions to present the listing in the best light.

According to the National Association of Realtors® 2020 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, 97% of recent homebuyers used the internet to search for a home. Moreover, agents share online listings with buyers to gauge interest before dedicating time to in-person viewings.

Today’s buyers look for move-in ready properties, so agents will want each listing to look as perfect as possible online. Pre-listing home improvements can range from a fresh coat of paint to repairs and whole-home renovations, which are generally in kitchens or bathrooms.

Agents may also will want to offer advice to homeowners on choosing the best contractor to make those repairs and updates.
