Realtor Safety Starts with Smart Practices

September is Realtor Safety Month, a reminder for agents to use tools and best practices to stay safe on the job year-round.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Digital security. Personal protection. Situational awareness. Realtors today face a wider range of risks than in the past, underscoring the importance of staying alert in all aspects of the job.

Realtor Safety Month, observed each September, encourages agents to adopt best practices for protecting themselves, their customers and their data. Steps that include verifying appointments, using secure digital tools, sharing itineraries with colleagues and staying aware of surroundings during property showings are just the beginning.

Florida Realtors® also have access to tools that can add more layers of protection, including Forewarn. Using only a phone number, Forewarn delivers customer background information to help Realtors plan showings safely.

In addition, the National Association of Realtors® provides safety resources to share with colleagues, including handouts, training videos and personal protection resources.
