Florida Realtors Statement on Gov. DeSantis’ Hometown Heroes Housing Program Announcement

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced his support of the Hometown Heroes Housing Program, a $100 million homeownership-related program included in the 2022-23 state budget.

Regarding the Hometown Heroes Housing Program announcement, Florida Realtors® President Christina Pappas offered the following statement:

"We are grateful for the support of Governor DeSantis on this game-changing homeownership program. During the pandemic and beyond, our hometown heroes – the nurses, EMTs, firefighters, law enforcement officers and educators – were the ones who kept us safe, cared for our loved ones and taught our children.

“With home prices continuing to rise in Florida, these heroes often can’t afford to live in the communities where they work. The Hometown Heroes Housing Program is a great way to help them achieve the dream of homeownership.”
