Tips for Creating a LinkedIn Company Page
Keep LinkedIn company pages active by assigning admins, posting weekly and sharing a mix of industry news and company updates to boost engagement.
NEW YORK — Business professionals rely on LinkedIn to connect with others through updated professional stories and profiles, as well as work-related news and achievements. Companies pages on LinkedIn also need to be updated and maintained, with employees sharing updates, building brand recognition and connecting with professionals in the industry.
These pages can help recognize employees for work achievements, share details about products and services, advertise job openings and humanize companies. Through careful planning, a company LinkedIn page can engage employees, job seekers, partners and prospects.
The first step is to identify administrators of the page who will manage the content to ensure consistency and content quality that adheres to brand guidelines. Having multiple people listed as administrators also ensures that the role can be handled during absences or vacations.
Once administrators are in place, the company page should share content at least once per week and it should be business related, meaning employee events, job openings, product announcements or new hires. But that type of content should also be limited to 20% of shares, with 80% focused on general industry content.
Reposts of partner or customer content or announcements also should be acknowledged through resharing. These posts represent opportunities for comarketing and help get the company's brand and name in from of the partners' audiences.
Employees should be encouraged to follow and engage with the company's LinkedIn pages and posts. This can showcase the company's culture and supportive internal network.
