Disaster Relief Fund Opens After Flash Floods
After torrential rain and flash flooding damaged homes and businesses in Brevard and Lake counties, Florida Realtors opened its Disaster Relief Fund to aid recovery.
ORLANDO, Fla. — After days of heavy rain triggered flash floods, flooded homes and sinkholes across northern Brevard and Lake counties, the Florida Realtors®' Disaster Relief Fund (DRF) has opened to help recovery from the damage.
Realtors®, their employees, local associations and staff impacted by the rainfall in Brevard and Lake can apply for help through DRF. The application deadline is April 30, 2026. Applicants must be a member of the Realtor family prior to the disaster, whose primary residence or real estate office sustained serious physical and/or structural damage to include but not limited to water intrusion.

Applications should include:
- Color photos showing damage (digital preferred) and insurance summary page showing deductible and coverage information; and
- A written assessment from your insurance company and estimate to replace or repair damaged areas; include qualifying repair receipts to date and any additional information which may assist with describing your disaster and subsequent damage.

The National Weather Service said up to 15 inches of rain fell on portions of Titusville, Port Saint John and Merritt Island in Brevard County and up to 19 inches fell across Eustis and Mount Dora in Lake County during the weekend of Oct. 25.
“These excessive rainfall amounts led to substantial flash flooding impacts across these areas, including numerous homes flooded and widespread street flooding, leading to stranded vehicles and some roadways being partially or completely washed out,” the National Weather Service said.
