Good Agents Help Shape Smarter Decisions
Putting homes in front of buyers isn’t enough. Strong pricing, presentation and agent insight help guide better decisions early in the process.
NEW YORK — Where a listing appears matters, but the decisions made before it hits the market often have more influence on the outcome, Deb Siefkin, founder and broker at RightSize Realty Associates, said in Inman.
Pricing, timing, presentation and a clear sense of the likely buyer can do more to shape performance than broader distribution alone. More exposure may create more opportunity, but it will not correct a pricing strategy that misses the mark or a presentation that falls short of buyer expectations. The same is true on the buyer side, where more information has not necessarily made decisions easier.
“When those decisions lack clarity, a listing can be seen everywhere and still underperform,” Siefkin said.
An agent's value shows up early, in the decisions that shape how a home is positioned before it ever reaches the market, she said.
“The value is in helping clients make decisions within a complex and uncertain environment. Interpreting the market, structuring choices, and providing a clear framework for action are what allow buyers and sellers to move forward with confidence,” Siefkin said.
