Modification to Listing Agreement: Did You Know?
Florida Realtors’ MLA-6 form can update pricing, timelines and more, yet it’s often overlooked despite its flexibility and ease of use.
ORLANDO, Fla. — At last count, Florida Realtors® offers members over 300 forms to use in their day-to-day business. Some have become so widely used that nearly everyone recognizes them by name. Others are more obscure and needed less often.
Today, let’s refresh our memories:
The Modification to Listing Agreement, or MLA-6, is not a new form. It hasn’t been amended since August of 2024. Even then, the changes were minor to ensure compliance with the National Association of Realtors®’ settlement. Yet, for some reason it is one of the lesser used forms.
The MLA-6 can be used to amend the Exclusive Right of Sale Listing Agreement, Exclusive Brokerage Listing Agreement and the Exclusive Right to Lease Listing Agreement. It is a simple, easy to read form, with checkboxes that can be used to amend the various parts of the above mentioned forms. The form can be used to make common changes such as:
- Change the Termination Date
- Change price and terms
- Amend compensation amounts
- Change the cancellation fee
- Conditionally or unconditionally terminate the agreement
- Plus, a few others
Don’t forget, as a member of Florida Realtors, you have access to all of the mentioned forms through Form Simplicity.
