Legal summit puts risk, readiness in focus
A July 16 legal summit in Orlando will give Realtors a practical look at legal issues showing up in daily business, including AI, contracts, disclosures, FREC, lawsuits and complex transactions. The event offers 5 CE credits and is presented by Orlando Real Producers in partnership with Florida Realtors.
Some real estate problems do not announce themselves as legal risks. They start as customer questions, complicated situations or transactions that suddenly take a turn.
That is where preparation matters.
The Florida Real Estate Legal Summit takes those real-world moments and puts them at the center of a full-day Orlando event, giving Realtors® a closer look at the legal issues that can shape their business, their transactions and their conversations with customers.
The July 16 summit, presented by Orlando Real Producers in partnership with Florida Realtors®, is built around the kinds of questions real estate professionals are already facing. Sessions include a National Association of Realtors® federal update, a 2026 Florida Realtors state update, Ethics & AI, navigating death and divorce in real estate, what to do about FREC issues and the top reasons agents face lawsuits.
For Realtors in Florida, the value is practical. The summit connects legal updates to everyday business decisions, from how agents communicate with customers to how they handle complicated transactions, technology tools, changing rules and potential risk.
“Florida Realtors are working in a market where legal questions are not theoretical. They show up in contracts, conversations, advertising, disclosures and daily brokerage decisions,” Juana Watkins, Florida Realtors’ general counsel and vice president of law and policy, said “This summit gives members a chance to hear from attorneys who understand Florida’s real estate landscape, take away practical guidance for their business and better recognize when to pause, ask the right questions and seek legal guidance.”
The event is also designed to bring real estate professionals into the same room for a shared look at risk, responsibility and opportunity in today’s market. For newer agents, it can help build confidence around issues they may not have handled before. For experienced agents and brokers, it offers a timely reset on topics that continue to change.
